PostSubject: Boomkin (re)applying   Boomkin (re)applying Icon_minitimeThu Aug 14, 2008 8:03 pm

General information:

Character name: Nevan
Class: Druid (43/0/18 balance)
Race: Night Elf
Level: 70
Started playing WoW: End of January '07
Played Time on your char: 165 days 22 hours 35 minutes
Professions Primary and Secondary: Alchemy (transmutation master) and jewelcrafting both maxed out, as well as all the secondary professions
How stable is your internet connection: No major issues, my average latency is around 200ms
What's you regular FPS rate in a 25 man raid: Average is around 25-40 I guess, as I've never really checked it, although some fights like Gorefiend tend to be considerably more dodgy due to large amounts of glittering pixel trash flying about in small area

Raid times and Experience:

We raid from Monday till Friday with different times. How many of these day can you attend. Please clarify them with the day and the time. Delete applicable.
Monday 19:30-23:30: Yes
Tuesday 19:30-23:30: Yes
Wednesday19:15-24:00: Yes
Thursday 19:30-23:30: Yes
Friday 19:30-01:00: Yes (preferably no longer raids than that as I spend most of my weekends at my moms)
Sunday 19:30-23:30: No

What's your pre-TBC raiding experience? Cleared Onyxia and AQ20 on my spriest alt, as lvl 70 though
The Burning Crusade experience: Attuned to every raid instance from Kara to BT (not that you would need attunements anymore)
Raid Experience within the following dungeons:
Serpent Shrine Caverns: Cleared
Tempest Keep: Cleared
Mount Hyjal: 4/5
Black Temple: 4/9
Sunwell Plateau: 0/6
Zul’Aman: Cleared

General questions

Previous guilds and reasons for leaving them?
Dark Argonaut Clan at very low levels, left because of general guild inactivity
Sentinels of Light (long before they reformed into SoL) where I leveled to 70, left with few friends after some months of drama over Karazhan groups
Serenity, before they split into Fraternite, left cause of poor leadership
KEK, which has been my online family for nearly a year soon, but has pretty much disbanded now cause of various different reasons, mainly cause of endless wiping on new bosses and thus no guarantee of progression

Why did you choose to become the class you are currently playing with?
Back in my noob days, I suppose I picked druid solely cause I thought the whole shapeshifting thingy seemed über cool. rabbit
I can't remember however why I originally decided to spend my talent points in balance tree, but as I learned around lvl 50 that balance druids are relatively uncommon, I decided that I wanted to be one of the best, since ferals and restos were pretty much swarming all over at that time.
I have tried and I'm currently experimenting with lots of different classes, but boomkin is something I simply enjoy the most.

What are the biggest advantages you have within this class and what is your role in a raid? Specify this to your spec.
My moonkin aura grants +5% spell crit chance for 4 party members which I'm sure ele shammies, destro locks and fire mages will love, and personally I can deal great burst damage and good sustained DPS. I can also offer combat res to fallen comrades and innervate to mana starved healers... or maybe DPS too, if they ask nicely enough. Razz

Stats unbuffed:
Health: 8754
Mana: 9230
Spell damage: 1245
Spell Crit: 16.23%(in caster form without talents), 20.23% with Starfire and Wrath and 26.23% with Moonfire (with talents)

Any other stats which are needed in your class. This is also to test your knowledge about your class so make a good choice. (Posting all stats won’t do the trick or referring to armory).
Spell hit is a no brainer for every offensive caster, right now I have 161 hit rating and the cap for moonkin is 152. I have 271 spirit and 329/126 MP5 (unbuffed naturally), cause certain amount of mana regen is a must for moonkin, as I still refuse to believe going up front to melee your target to regen mana is an option in end game raiding, regardless of the amount of people who have attempted to convince me otherwise. Suspect
I'm also starting to build up spell haste so I can start mashing starfire with vengeance.

What do you think you can add to Eternals?
A dedicated raider who knows her stuff and wants to see as much end game content as possible, before and after the new expansion.

What do you think Eternals can do for you?
Well I hope to see more end game, cause I love raiding for the sheer excitement of killing new bosses (I'm also unhealthily fond of wiping), and to make new friends on Ghostlands.

Some Real life info. Country, RL age, Name, Work, Interest?
I'm a 19 year old girl from Finland, who loves video games, music, movies, Japanese culture, the smell of gasoline, and big foot trucks.
Currently I'm unemployeed and not studying anything, although that might change during this month.
I have a weird and relatively perv sense of humor, I tend to go drama queen during spring time cause of personal issues and I love calling people nabs, but generally I mean no harm with any of that. I am aware I didn't leave a good impression about myself earlier this year during my ridiculously short stay in the guild, and I can't apologize enough about my behaviour. But if you choose to accept me, I guarantee it won't happen again.

Additional information which you would like to name?
I am currently collecting the mats for the shadow resist gear for Mother Shahraz, since it was never really made mandatory to have in KEK before my game time dramatically diminished, as I spent my summer at my moms.
I'm also aware you aren't currently recruiting moonkins, if you think I won't have a raid spot, I'm happy to join as more of a social member than raider and offer what help I can outside raids.

Thank you for taking your time to read my application, and feel free to ask if there's anything I forgot to mention.

TBH all that sticks in my mind is your previous guild experience. I think when you left; yourslef and others got a chance to move on. On most cases I don't think going backwards is a good thing. I think you should look to move forwards with your wow career and not look back. I wish you luck but I'm gunna say no for 2 reasons. 1. I don't think it would be best for guild and 2. I don't think it will be right for you. If it was only one of those reasons I would give you a chance but I know both are there, so if you wanna chat or what ever then feel free but I think what would be best for you is to look for a diff guild and have a fresh start Smile

lol...... that was in the ssc/tk days if i remember correctly people can change alot during that time, and about looking backwards is something i dont get if you're looking for a wow career its obvious you gonna apply to a guild that progress we had have more ppl who left this guild and rejoined(me eldrid pleq n a few others) what makes the difference. there are no other guilds recruiting boomkins or in dire need of it we do no offence to welsh but hes vastly undergeared while we get the BEST geared boomkin applying to us we decline cause of some past experience well ppl fucking change over time.
i dont see how its not best for the guild, a guild like us needs players who are experience n geared dont we? how the fuck we gonna progress otherwise.
if its about her personality well i can only say shes changed since then and worth giving a 2nd chance as everyone deserves one.

Doggie, I understand you trying to defend your friend. I'm being unbiased here. You are right, people change, but am I a mind reader and supposed to just know this? She left in a bad way and a random app on the forums without trying to clear the air etc isn't the way to go. If nevan wants to get a second chance then she has to show she wants it and make an effort other than a line in an app saying shes changed. You're fighting for a friend but if it was anyone else would you be making such a statement? I mean, you didn't fight for Sasdeadeye to be given a second chance so you can clearly see where I'm comming from can't you?

did he had any experience and gear hardly.
and when i asked if we're still recruiting boomkins you instantly said ''that nevan noo to much drama'' or something doesnt that says neither you gave her a chance to prove she changed if you stick at an image from ages ago.
i agree she left in a bad way and should talk things over with you.
i would make a statement for anyone who's geared and experienced for this guild.

and i left the guild twice in a bad way i didnt raid for a week, if you ask me i dont deserve to be here over anyone else but im still here and i never had to show that im dedicated to this guild to get back in...

reese left the guild for friends on another realm he got back in..
eldrid left cause he didnt get the raid he got back in..

Reese spoke to me before leaving and left in a mature way. Eldrid and you emo quit and was a very short space of time before you were back in. We all get emo sometimes and make mistakes but the longer you leave the mistake the harder it is to get over. I'm stuck with an image in my mind of Nevan as it's the only image I have ever been privvy to.

1. Well, truth to be told I have more or less forgotten the sheer existence of the specific idol, since I got it long before the patch which buffed it quite a lot and it was the only idol useful for moonkin that was sitting in my bank. It will definitely become useful for a moonkin with 4 set of T6, cause after that point the most common ‘spell rotation’ would be mashing Starfire, occasionally tossing in a Moonfire depending on situation. Since SF is the only spell benefitting from Nature’s Grace, and spell crit is needed for NG to proc, I’m fairly confident IotRG will be the most useful idol for moonkin with 4 pieces of T6, with item switching during casting causing a GCD these days and all. I’m saying ‘fairly confident’ cause I haven’t had the chance to try it out yet, myself possessing only one piece of T6 atm, and generally I prefer to see things for myself before jumping in to conclusions. I wouldn’t prefer using it over Idol of the Unseen Moon before possessing the gear though, unless it would be of significant use for the group I would be in (at least 4 offensive casters who gain 100% damage increase with spell crits, myself included).
2. Imp FF is something I personally loathe tbh. Quite frankly it is a waste of talent points for a raiding moonkin at the moment as far as I’m concerned, imo it should be a 1 point talent instead of 3, 1 point doing the exact same thing as 3. It’s far more useful in Kara and other T4-T5 content where threat shouldn’t be an issue for the moonkin yet, but after that all the melee and hunters should be capped with hit, or at least close to it, or have other means to avoid missing at bosses. Tanks shouldn’t be having trouble generating aggro without a moonkin in the raid with 3 points in Imp FF, and if they are, problem lies somewhere else. I won’t say I will never spec for it if asked, but that means I’m either losing points in threat reduction or mana regen talents and neither sound good to me, as both are vital for a nuking featherball. I will most likely have to review my opinion of it in WotLK where it also applies for spell hit but atm the cost to obtain Imp FF is just way too high.

And well, as for the other comments, I was expecting this debate would arise should I make the move of applying without a heads up. I find it hard to make amends of what I said and did (and left undone), to prove I've changed and that I want another chance from outside the guild, or simply talking to one person in hopes of 'clearing the air'. The way I see it, it isn't just one person I should be apologizing from or explaining myself to, it should be everyone affected by the things I did, and from my point of view that would be the majority of current Eternals who were around to witness my dubious behaviour.
First things first, I do not know how to beg for anything, so I'm not trying to slither my way in the guild with this post or anything like that if that's the image I'm giving, I understand I am not in the top wanted list due to my past behaviour.
Fact is, I am not a people person. I do not know how to act with (new) people, be it online or in real life and it is hard for me to make new acquaintances. You will barely ever see me approaching people I know nothing of, and switching guilds for example is extremely hard if I know nobody in the new guild. I also know extremely well I am prone to saying a lot of things that can be misunderstood, or are just plain rude, labeling me as a blunt, mean bitch. Other than not being good with people overall, I fully acknowledge I am definitely not an easy person to get along with, and by all means, I am NOT a drama free person, and unfortunately you of all people have most likely witnessed the worst of it. Don't get me wrong however, I'm not looking for sympathy with any of this, I'm merely laying down some facts about myself for this whole explanation to make some sense.
Now, as for the drama regarding me switching guilds between KEK and Eternals within short time, and leaving things unexplained, it took me a long while to realize the consequences of all that.
Reason why I originally left KEK to join Eternals was cause I wasn’t given a steady raid spot, sometimes raiding every day one week, and then barely getting in one raid as a replacement the other, and it was killing me. It wouldn’t have been as bad if there would’ve been some sort of sign up system used for raids, clearly stating every day who of all the signed up people gets to raid and who doesn’t, but back then KEK had no such luxury whatsoever and people were selected at random, leading in to many others than just me going emo over the raid spots aswell. Not only that, but I was going through a rough phase in my life back then, and it only made matters worse in every aspect. I admit though, clearly it was partially my own fault for not being vocal enough about my position of not getting to raid as much as I wanted to, but I am not the person to spell it out if I feel mistreated, or pointing fingers at anyone. I considered most of KEK members as my friends, and it made my decision of leaving them extremely hard, but I had to think about myself for once. I don’t play WoW just to make friends, I prefer to do stuff that is fun and challenging and for me, raiding is just the thing that fills both characteristics.
So, I left KEK, and joined Eternals, but things were vastly different and all the new people were making me feel like a complete outsider. Needless to say, I missed my old guild mates cause they knew how I am and for the most parts seemed to understand my sense of humor and vice versa, without me having to explain myself all the time. For reasons relating to my situation in real life, I wasn’t sleeping well at that time, and it started to inflict my game time. I went to sleep shortly before the raids were supposed to begin and slept til late night. Hence why I wasn’t seen in 25 mans apart from the one time in TK, which became a Gruul raid instead.
Couple of days after leaving KEK I got a proposal from the new raid leader, asking me to come back and offering me a steady raid spot. I didn’t accept the offer straight away, mainly cause I doubted how long that raid spot would be granted for me. Few days went by with me barely being online until one night I got into an argument with one of the Eternals’ members. I decided then it was better for me to leave before I made things worse, as I had lost my will in trying to get to know with people. I’m not claiming it was the smartest thing to do, as it most certainly wasn’t, but at that point I didn’t have any energy in trying to befriend with a lot of strangers when I was offered the chance of going back to a guildful of friends.
Now those friends have all been scattered in to different guilds, some have migrated to different realms and some have quit, some coming back for WotLK, some permanently. I got no guild to go back to just cause all my friends are there, which I now think shouldn’t be your top priority anyway when looking for raid guild suited for your goals. I understand there can be no excuse for my overall negative behaviour, no guild deserves to be treated the way I did to Eternals, and I will always get reminded of it, but then I can only blame myself.
Sorry for the lengthy and cheesy message but I’m not best known for keeping things short. If there’s still something unclear you want to know concerning the drama I caused, you can ask either in-game or here, I got nothing to hide but this is pretty much all I can think of on my own.
Thank you for the replies, and best of luck in SWP.

I got in one little Battleground and my GM got scared
and said, "You're movin' with your Classleader and and Raidleader in Bel Air"
I whisteled for a cab and when it came near
the license plate said Wind and it had dice in the mirror
if anything I could say that this cab was rare
but I thought, "NAW FORGET IT YO HOME TO Stormwind!"
